ACOC News Updates

June 5 , 2010

April was Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Month and ACOC participated in a variety of GO ORANGE for Animals activities including fund raising efforts for two animal welfare organizations, activites such as coloring contests, and culminating in a celebration via our Mini Mobile Vet Hospital float in the Geauga County Maple Festival Grand Parade!

Geauga County Maple Festival Grand Parade - Although rain rolled in as the parade began, we had a great time. Our float was a mini-veterinary hospital complete with Dr. Tom dressed as a dog. His sickness cured by, what else, IV Maple Syrup!

The Geauga County Dog Warden and Caroline's Kids Pet Rescue - We collected over $519 dollars as a result of raffle, nail trims, and the purchase of toys that raised funds for Caroline's Kids and the Geauga Dog Warden. Many people also dropped off items for donation. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped support our efforts!!!

Go Orange Contest and Raffle Winners - The $100 gift card raffle was won by Cindy Davis, congratulations to her! We had two winners in the children's coloring contest. Each won a Dairy Queen gift card. The winners were Evelyn Dillon and Leigh Ashby and their winning artwork is currently displayed in the ACOC reception area. Congratulations, and thank you to all of the kids who put their creativity to work, we enjoyed looking at every single entry!

NEW! Puppy Parties! Join us at The Animal Clinic of Chardon for FUN puppy socialization! Our first class was a hit! Riley Ann, a Beagle, Sam, a German Shepherd, and Shadow, a Border Collie mix, took part in the class. Topics included what to expect in your k9's life; grooming/handling/oral health care; first aid/safety; insurance; micro chipping and behavior. All participants told us they enjoyed class said they learned a lot espically about positive reward training.

Our Puppy Parties consist of 4 sessions (Fridays from 6-7pm) and are for puppies 6-16 weeks. Each session covers a variety of topics expanding on the stuff we don't get to cover in depth during appointments. Puppy Parties are also a time for puppies to play, socialize, and learn good behaviors. To download a registration form visit our Client Forms page. Please call 440-285-9191 for information on the next scheduled Puppy Party date!

Heartgard/Merial Nintendo Wii Game System Winner - ACOC and Heartgard™ (Merial)  held a promotion that ran through May 13, 2010. For each 12-pack of Heartgard™ purchased entrants' names were entered into a drawing for a Wii Game System. The winner of that drawing was Yvonne Gonzales, congratulations!
