Pain Score:
We currently use a five-point scale for assessing acute pain in dogs and cats where 0 is no evidence of pain and 4 is the most severe / intractable pain. These are based on current pain scales adopted by AAHA, Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the more comprehensive Glasgow Composite Pain Scale.
