Mary Woolf
Animal Care Assistant Joined the ACOC team in September 2019 Favorite thing or most inspiring part of position at ACOC: My favorite part of being an ACA is definitely getting to meet all of the dogs and cats that come in to board. I love when they take their play breaks and I am able to have some fun with them! It also is amazing when I see a boarder opening up and really starting to enjoy their time here. It makes me very happy to see them happy! I love talking to clients about... How to make you pet less fearful of boarding or being at the vet! Part of my job is making sure that all of the boarders feel very comfortable here despite being in a new place, away from their owner. I've learned quite a bit on how to keep things fear free and am willing to help out anyone looking to do the same! Interested facts: Something fun I like to do is foster puppies and kittens for Rescue Village! It's so rewarding to be able to take a litter of puppies or kittens home for a week or two and see them blossom into amazing, well behaved pets! It's sad to give them back sometimes but it's worth it to see them go to their forever home! My family is guilty of adopting two cats we cared for and they're both wonderful additions to the Woolf family! If I wasn't so darned good at my job, I'd probably be..... I'd probably be working at the zoo. I always loved the zoo growing up and it would be so fun to work there! If I were a superhero, my superpower would be.... My superpower would be to talk to animals. Although I can find out what's bugging a pet after a while, it sure would make things a lot easier. If I were an animal, I would be a.... I would be a wolf. I think since my last name is Woolf, there's no other option! What is your favorite ACOC core value and why? My favorite ACOC core value is grow. Since I started working here, I've learned so much and it's so nice to see how much all the employees here value education. Everyone is willing to help teach you something even as simple as how to hold a pet for a vaccine. I want to be a veterinarian in the future, so that's very important to me. There's such a sense of family here and I'm so glad to be a part of it! Return to Our Team |
