Oral Cavity: There is no visible tartar or gingivitis (dental score is 0/4 and tartar score is 0/3.) Dental scores of 1 or two suggest periodontal disease that is most likely reversible with professional and home dental care. Grade 3 or 4 periodontal disease is likely to be irreversible and will result in the loss of teeth and need for ongoing care to prevent more widespread illness. There is no halitosis. Adult or deciduous teeth have all erupted and are in appropriate orientation for patient age. There is no visible wear or damage of teeth. There are no gingival or oral masses, no abnormal pigmentation, and no chewing / panting lesions. Mucous membranes are moist, CRT is < 2 seconds, and color is pink. Visible portions of the pharynx are normal. Back to Exam Normals
