Pain Score: We currently use a five-point scale for assessing acute pain in dogs and cats where 0 is no evidence of pain and 5 is the most severe / intractable pain. These are based on current pain scales adopted by AAHA, Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and the more comprehensive Glasgow Composite Pain Scale.  Back to Exam Normals
